SUPERRCOURSE #3
"LET'S GET TECHNICAL |
SuperCourse #3 was a great race, with terrific racing and of course great weather. Thank you all for attending it. Sorry to see a few of you that did not make it all the way. Next time.
Below are a few comments after we've had the opportunity to review each IRC Tracking Unit (by race #). For the most part, everyone did very well. A couple did not but we could also tell that it was not because they wanted to "cheat" but because they failed to return where they left the actual course. There are a couple more penalties pending, and when the results become official in 10 days* we will have heard from those racers and we'll make a decision.
As we've explained in the past, some units may have a little more "drifting" than others. This is just a satellite matter. The way we can tell that a racer was not trying to cut the course is by viewing the areas that show some racers, racing a few feet from the marked course. In some cases that would be impossible and way too slow for a racer to use such lines..."drifting."
The comments are in no particular order but just how we downloaded each:

As you can see, there were some racers who made a few more mistakes. All in all, it was a good performance by all. Those of you with possible penalties may want to contact us before results* become official.
Speaking of results: Some of you might know that we've had a major crash in our computer last week. We have a brand new one with all kinds of bells and whistles, but we do have a problem. Some of the language in our scoring program was not transferred and may not be compatible with our new Window 7 system. Enough excuses.
What we're trying to say is that while we have all the information from this weekend's event, we are unable to print it at this time or even post it. Not to worry.
Please be patient as you know we're working on the result and will be available as soon as we can. When the results are up, there will be a 10-day grace period in case there are any questions about our scoring. After that, they will become official.
In the meantime, here are the ".kmz" Google file.
